Adderall® (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine) is a medication commonly used for treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is also licensed to treat narcolepsy. The drug, which is available by prescription only, comes in tablet form and is available in seven different strengths. Before using Adderall, make sure your healthcare provider is aware if you have hypertension, hyperthyroidism, or mental illness. Potential side effects of the medicine include difficulty sleeping, headaches, loss of appetite, and abdominal pain.
