Concerta Oral
Concerta® (methylphenidate extended release) is a prescription medicine used for improving symptoms in adults and children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Concerta oral tablets, which are typically taken just once a day, are available in four different strengths, including:
- Concerta 18 mg
- Concerta 27 mg
- Concerta 36 mg
- Concerta 54 mg.
Although it is a stimulant, the drug actually produces a calming effect when used for ADHD treatment. The tablets are designed to be released slowly throughout the day to eliminate the need to take them at school or work.
Although most people do not experience any problems while taking Concerta orally, side effects are possible. Some of these potential side effects include nausea, dry mouth, and high blood pressure. Side effects are often minor and either do not require medical attention or can be treated easily.
