Daytrana™ (methylphenidate patch) is a prescription medicine licensed to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. The medication comes in the form of a skin patch that is generally worn for nine hours a day. Although Daytrana is a stimulant, it can produce a calming effect in children with ADHD by affecting certain chemicals in the brain. A few side effects associated with the Daytrana patch include vomiting, weight loss, and insomnia.
