Problems With the Daytrana Patch: Questions and Answers

Q: What if the Daytrana patch won't stick?
A: It is important to put the patch on clean, dry skin. Make sure there is no lotion, oil, or powder on the skin. After you put the patch on, press on it firmly with your hand for a full 30 seconds to help it stick. It is important to press the patch in order to prevent it from falling off.

Q: What if the patch leaves a residue on my child's skin?
A: Sometimes, the Daytrana patch can leave a sticky residue on the skin. Just rub a little lotion or oil on the skin, and the residue should come right off.

Q: What if the Daytrana patch falls off?
A: If the Daytrana patch falls off, discard the patch and put on a new one on the opposite hip. However, if it is almost time to remove the patch, you probably do not need to put on another one. If you put a new patch on, make sure to remove it at the usual time, in order to prevent insomnia.

Q: What if the Daytrana patch is coming off around the edges?
A: This is usually not a problem, although it may make the patch more likely to fall off while swimming, bathing, or showering. Try to get the edges to stick again by firmly pressing the patch with your hand for 30 seconds. Do not worry if you cannot get the edges to stick again.
