Dexedrine 10 mg Spansules

Dexedrine® (dextroamphetamine sulfate) is a prescription drug licensed to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. It comes in two forms: tablets and Spansules®.

Dexedrine Spansules are specially designed capsules that release the medication slowly over time. They can be taken just once a day, eliminating the need to take the medication at school or work. Spansules are available in three different strengths, including:

  • 5 mg Dexedrine Spansules
  • 10 mg Dexedrine Spansules
  • 15 mg Dexedrine Spansules.

For the treatment of ADHD in children ages 6 and older, the recommended dosage is either Dexedrine 5 mg (tablets) once or twice daily, or Dexedrine 5 mg to Dexedrine 10 mg (Spansules) once daily.

The usual starting dosage for children 6 to 12 years old who are being treated for narcolepsy is 5 mg daily (tablets or Spansules). For people 12 years and older, the recommended starting Dexedrine dosage is 10 mg daily (tablets or Spansules).
