Using Dexedrine for Narcolepsy
Dexedrine is also licensed for narcolepsy treatment. Symptoms of narcolepsy include falling asleep uncontrollably and at unusual times. People with narcolepsy often appear paralyzed while they are sleeping and have hallucinations when falling asleep. People who have narcolepsy symptoms often fall asleep several times during the day.
 
Dexedrine is a stimulant. For narcolepsy, Dexedrine is generally used at higher doses than when used as a treatment for ADHD. These higher doses have a stimulating effect, helping people with narcolepsy to stay awake.
 

Dexedrine Use in Young Children

Dexedrine has not been approved for use in children younger than three years of age.
