Focalin XR Oral

Focalin XR® (dexmethylphenidate extended-release) is a medication often prescribed for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Oral Focalin XR capsules are designed to release half of the medication immediately and the second half after approximately four hours. As a result, the product only needs to be taken once a day.

It is not known exactly how this medicine works to produce a calming effect in people with ADHD, but it is known that it affects certain chemicals in the brain. Clinical studies show that children and adults who took Focalin XR had significant behavior improvements.

As with any medicine, it is possible to develop side effects with Focalin XR (although many people tolerate it well). When side effects occur, they are usually minor and may include dry mouth, headaches, and loss of appetite.
