ADHD Home > Generic Methylin

Methylin® (methylphenidate hydrochloride) is a prescription medication used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. There are currently four forms of Methylin available:
  • Methylin tablets
  • Methylin ER tablets
  • Methylin chewable tablets.
  • Methylin oral solution.
Methylin is manufactured by Mallinckrodt, Inc. The chewable tablets and oral solution are marketed by Shionogi Pharma, Inc.
Regular Methylin tablets are actually a generic version of Ritalin®, and Methylin ER tablets are actually a generic version of Ritalin SR®. Other generic versions of these products are also available.
Methylin chewable tablets and oral solution are considered to be brand-name products. The oral solution (but not the chewable tablets) is available in generic form.
