Side Effects of Quillivant XR

Just like any medicine, Quillivant XR can cause side effects. However, not everyone who uses the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well.
 
If reactions do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are treated easily by you or your healthcare provider. Serious side effects are less common.
 
Common side effects of Quillivant XR include but are not limited to:
 
  • Mood swings
  • Scratches or scrapes to the skin
  • Insomnia
  • Decreased appetite.

Drug Interactions

Quillivant XR may react with several other medicines (see Quillivant XR Drug Interactions).
 

Important Information for Your Healthcare Provider

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking this medication if you have:
 
  • Heart problems of any kind, including heart disease, heart defects, or a heart arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm)
  • High blood pressure
  • A mental health or psychiatric problem, such as depression, bipolar disorder, or a psychotic disorder
  • A family history of depression, bipolar disorder, or suicide
  • A history of drug or alcohol abuse or dependence
  • Any allergies, including to foods, dyes, or preservatives.
 
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
   
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
