When medications like pressors or seizure medications are taken with Ritalin SR, interactions between the drugs may occur. These interactions can significantly increase the levels of medicine in your blood and may lead to serious side effects, such as extremely high blood pressure or increased heart rate. Other medications that may cause Ritalin SR interactions include warfarin, MAOIs, and tricyclic antidepressants.

Ritalin SR Interactions: An Overview

Ritalin SR® (methylphenidate extended-release) can potentially interact with several medicines. Some of the drugs that may lead to Ritalin SR interactions include:
  
  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:

 

 

 

    • Dopamine (Intropin®)
    • Dobutamine (Dobutrex®)
    • Epinephrine (Adrenalin®, EpiPen®)
