ADHD Home > Strattera 40 Mg
Strattera® (atomoxetine hydrochloride) is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (NRI) approved to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults, children, and teens. The medication comes in the form of a capsule that is taken by mouth either once or twice a day.
Weight is one of the most significant factors affecting a person's Strattera dose. People weighing more than 154 pounds, for example, usually start with either Strattera 40 mg once daily or 20 mg twice daily. After at least three days, this amount can be increased, if necessary, to either 80 mg once daily or 40 mg of Strattera twice daily. The maximum dose is 100 mg a day.
Do not adjust this amount without your healthcare provider's approval and supervision. If you are taking this medicine twice daily, the second dose should be taken in the late afternoon or early evening.
