Methylin Interactions

When certain medications are taken together, it is possible to develop drug interactions. With Methylin, interactions may occur if it is taken with clonidine, tricyclic antidepressants, seizure medications, or warfarin. Methylin Chewable Tablets^® (methylphenidate chewable tablets) and Methylin Oral Solution^® (methylphenidate oral solution) can potentially interact with many medicines. Some of the drugs that may lead to Methylin interactions include:

Clonidine (Catapres^®)
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:

o Isocarboxazid (Marplan^®)

o Phenelzine (Nardil^®)

o Rasagiline (Azilect^®)

o Selegiline (Eldepryl^®, Emsam^®, Zelapar^®)

o Tranylcypromine (Parnate^®)

Pressors (medications to increase blood pressure), including:

o Dopamine (Intropin^®)

o Dobutamine (Dobutrex^®)

o Epinephrine (Adrenalin Chloride^®, EpiPen^®)

o Norepinephrine (Levophed^®)

Seizure medications, such as phenobarbital (Luminal^®), phenytoin (Dilantin^®), or primidone (Mysoline^®)
Tricyclic antidepressants, including:
