Ritalin® is a prescription drug often used for the treatment of narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It helps children with ADHD by producing a calming effect and also works as a stimulant to help people with narcolepsy stay awake and alert. Ritalin may cause side effects, such as dizziness, weight loss, or nausea. It comes in tablet form and is available in three different strengths: 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg.
