Benefits of Strattera
Adults, adolescents, and children (age six and older) who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) may benefit from Strattera® (atomoxetine hydrochloride). This prescription medication comes in capsule form and is generally taken once or twice a day. The exact amount your healthcare provider prescribes will depend on various factors, including your age and weight.
Although it is not exactly clear how Strattera works, it is known to affect certain chemicals in the brain, such as norepinephrine. Unlike other ADHD medications, Strattera is not a stimulant and is not likely to be abused. Also, because it is not a controlled substance, the rules for prescribing and dispensing it are much less strict.
