Strattera® (atomoxetine hydrochloride) is the only non-stimulant medication that is licensed for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The medicine is used to treat ADHD in children, teenagers, and adults. Part of a class of drugs called selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, Strattera works by affecting a chemical in the brain called norepinephrine. Among the conditions you should let your healthcare provider know about before you take Strattera are glaucoma, liver problems, and any allergies you may have. To reduce the chances of drug interactions occurring, you should also let your healthcare provider know about all of the medicines you currently take.
