Strattera Drug Interactions
A few of the drugs that can potentially interact with Strattera include albuterol tablets, terbinafine, and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). Strattera drug interactions can alter the levels of Strattera in your blood and raise your risk of side effects, such as very high blood pressure or increased heart rate. Talk with your healthcare provider about drug interactions with Strattera that may apply to you.
Strattera® (atomoxetine hydrochloride) can potentially interact with a number of other medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to Strattera interactions include:
- Albuterol tablets (Proventil®, VoSpire®)
- Chlorpromazine
- Delavirdine (Rescriptor®)
- Fluoxetine (Prozac®, Sarafem®, Symbyax®)
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:
- Isocarboxazid (Marplan®)
- Phenelzine (Nardil®)
- Rasagiline (Azilect®)
- Selegiline (Eldepryl®, Emsam®, Zelapar®)
- Tranylcypromine (Parnate®)
- Paroxetine (Paxil®, Paxil CR®)
- Pergolide (Permax®)
- Pressors, including:
- Dopamine (Intropin®)
- Dobutamine (Dobutrex®)
- Epinephrine (Adrenalin®, EpiPen®)
- Norepinephrine (Levophed®)
- Quinidine
- Quinine
- Ritonavir (Norvir®)
- Ropinirole (Requip®)
- Terbinafine (Lamisil®).
