Strattera Strengths

Strattera® (atomoxetine hydrochloride) is a prescription medication licensed for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults, children, and teens. It comes in the form of a tablet that is taken by mouth once or twice a day.

The strength of Strattera your healthcare provider prescribes will depend on various factors, such as your age, your weight, and if any other medical conditions are present. Children and teenagers who weigh 154 pounds or less, for example, start with 0.25 mg per pound of weight, rounded to the nearest available strength. Those weighing more than 154 pounds start with the adult dose.

It is important to take this medication exactly as your healthcare provider recommends. You can take it with or without food, but should take it with water or some other beverage. Do not adjust your dose without talking to your healthcare provider.
