Vyvanse™ (lisdexamfetamine dimesylate) is a prescription medicine licensed to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. The medication comes in the form of a capsule that is usually taken once a day in the morning. Although Vyvanse is a stimulant, it can produce a calming effect in children with ADHD by affecting certain chemicals in the brain. A few side effects associated with Vyvanse include a decreased appetite, insomnia, and headaches.
