Vyvanse ADHD Medicine

Vyvanse™ (lisdexamfetamine dimesylate) is a medication that is available by prescription to treat ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

A calming effect has been reported in adults, adolescents, and children taking this ADHD medicine. Vyvanse has been shown to improve symptoms of the disorder. This calming effect significantly improves behavior problems. Although it is not known how the medication works, it is known that it affects certain chemicals in the brain.

Vyvanse comes in capsule form and is usually taken once a day in the morning. Because the drug is a stimulant and has the potential to be abused, there are special rules for prescribing and dispensing it.

While most people tolerate Vyvanse well, side effects are possible. Some of the most commonly reported side effects include headache, dry mouth, insomnia, and irritability.
