Vyvanse for Adults

Vyvanse™ (lisdexamfetamine dimesylate) is a medication licensed for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Healthcare providers can prescribe it for adults, adolescents, and children 6 to 12 years old.

The medicine has been shown to be effective for improving symptoms of ADHD, such as behavior problems. Although it is not known exactly how Vyvanse produces a calming effect, it is known that it affects certain chemicals in the brain.

Vyvanse has not been approved for use in children younger than six years of age. If your child is under six years old, talk to his or her healthcare provider about other available ADHD treatment options.
