Vyvanse
™ (
lisdexamfetamine dimesylate) is a prescription medicine approved for treating
ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) in adults and children 6 to 12 years old.
Clinical studies have shown that this drug can significantly improve symptoms of ADHD. It is important to understand, however, that not everyone can safely take this product. Before taking this medication, information on Vyvanse should be reviewed with your healthcare provider to help ensure safe treatment. You should also let your healthcare provider know if you have thyroid problems,
high blood pressure, or any
allergies.
Although Vyvanse is a stimulant, it actually produces a calming effect when used for the treatment of ADHD. It is not known exactly why this effect occurs, but it is known that the medication affects certain chemicals in the brain.
